BROKEN SPRINGSList Item 1
Sectional garage doors use springs that work to open and close your garage door. You may have a torsion spring system that winds and unwinds the springs with each use of the door. Or it is an extension spring system that stretches the springs out when the door is closed, and retracts them when the door is opened.
The ability to lift your garage door comes from the springs, and not the garage door operator. If a garage door spring is broken or unwound, the garage door opener may struggle to lift the weight of the door or fail to open the door at all.
Using your garage door opener when your door has a broken spring can cause damage to your garage door motor or other parts and be a danger to you.
Call us to come fix your broken spring. We carry all sizes of springs and the correct professional tools to fix your door safely and quickly so you can be opening and closing your door the same day.

Stripped gears, worn sprockets, circuit boards that are worn out, and wiring malfunctions are all common but fixable reasons your garage door opener may not be opening your garage door, or why your opener is making odd noises.

Garage door openers have safety sensors (called photocells) that work together on either side of the garage door opening. One sensor sends a beam of light to the other sensor. Water damage is also a common reason photocells quit working.
